I signed onto my bank online. Under FAQ, I found a number to call, which I did. A voice said I might be a select caller and there were offerings for me. An ad for car insurance, an ad for termites, then car insurance ad again. I pressed 0. A recording told me to call this number. Instead, I did a search for the number and ended up at RoboCall.

I was calling att. I must have dialed 1-800 instead of 1-877. I got the msg stating the number had changed for my area. Here's what happened? Q. Does this phone number used for your account? A. Yes Q. What city are you in? A. I gave them my city. Q. Name on the account? A. I gave them my last name. Then, I hung up. Yeah, I fell for it. Then I realized what an **** I'd been. They were phishing. I imagine, they would have next asked me for my address, etc. Can't wait to see my phone bill next month.
