If you answer the call thinking it is authentic the scammer starts occupying your IP and then tries to get you to pay for security with iTunes or google cards....if you fall for that he will then promise a complete upgrade of all your devices if you will go get some more google cards and promises a tech from apple store will be bringing a rebate check.....just call Apple before answering and you will know it's a phishing scam....it all starts with answering a phone call!..after that the scammer ALWAYS calls you back while occupying your devices.

I received several Robo calls from this number. It stated that my verification code was blah blah blah. Called Apple support and notified them that I do not have an Apple product or an account and they said that it was spam. They do not call you unless you contact them.

Apple support does NOT call you outbound from this support number unless you called them first and the call got disconnected, or you contacted them first and scheduled a call back.- they will let you know if they need to call you back for tech reasons (example, you need to restart the phone, but you're talking on that phone, they will give you 5 and call back). They don't just randomly call you for security things. The number is actually apple support, so *don't block it* or support cannot reach you when you ask them to. This is a scammer using spoof software to show up on your caller ID as a number that they didn't actually call from. Source: I work for Apple Support.
