I answered and pressed 1, they connected me to a person who knew my name, when they asked for me to confirm my birthday I said no, and she got an attitude and asked why, so I responded with “seems kinda fishy to me”, so she hung up on me lol definitely was not an Apple representative

Legitimate Apple phone number but call not from Apple (Scam call) reported by


I got a call saying that my account was compromised and that I should press 1 to speak to somebody. I pressed 1, and got somebody with an Indian accent who asked what I was calling about. I told him that I didn't know, but the recording said to press 1 to speak to a person. After a few seconds of nothing but background noise, he hung up. Apple wouldn't hang up on a customer, nor would they be likely to call instead of sending Email. Calling the number back gets the real Apple, and their system is clearly unrelated to the one that called me. There's nothing there having to do with compromised accounts.
