Where to start. Recovery Portfolio calls every few days, but my phone is set up for do not disturb. Always a different number. I actually did pick up once to see what it was about. I asked very politely who I was speaking to. She just rattled off my name and asked to speak with me. I'm sorry you didn't answer my question first. Left it at that. Another time, got a very rude man from Portfolio Recovery demanding to speak with me. Well, I responded back "How dare you call this number after 9 pm est!" He hung up real fast. I do acknowledge the debt, but it's very hard to pay anything when you've lost your job.

The recording at the beginning of the call states that this is someone trying to collect a debt. However, I have "Lifelock" and keep very apprised of everything on my credit report. I have zero late payments to at least 2005 , the oldest thing on my report, and owe zero past debts. She wanted/demanded my date of birth, social, address, something, anything. Seeing as they called me, they should know that if they aren't a scam. When I said "I'll give you mine if you give me yours", she said she'll have to mark me as noncompliant and hung up. They're fun to play with if you're bored.
