Took my father in law for $400. 86 old battling cancer. (Scam call) reported by


Called father in law and got him so rattled about his computer that they convinced him to go buy $400 google card at the gas station and gave them the numbers off it. Someone was working on his computer remotely after he gave them the number, stopped, and then told him to go buy another $400 google card. He finally realized this was a scam. I tried to call the number back and it rings busy every time. Rotten people ripping off people.

I went on line for Microsoft support and this number came up. Our computer was very slow so I called and they went through and cleaned up the computer. I called for my laptop and the phone number was forever busy. Microsoft is getting a bad name for this one, I'll bet.

Caller claims to be Microsoft. Wants access to your computer. Microsoft does NOT make cold calls!!! High warning on Whitepages.com!! Call transcript: "We are getting suspicious activity running on your computer and Microsoft firewall security has been breached due to unauthorized blogging attempts. We recommend you please do not access your any financial information such as banking shopping on your computer for security reasons until your computer will not get fix. Please contact Microsoft store or to talk to Microsoft Online technician press nine." *** Microsoft DOES NOT make this type of call!!!! *** This is NOT a Microsoft phone number. It is linked to a scammer website (microsoftsupport.xyz) which has been taken down. Message from Microsoft: Microsoft will never proactively reach out to you to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. Any communication we have with you must be initiated by you. Cybercriminals often use publicly available phone directories, so they might know your name and other personal information when they call you. They might even guess what operating system you're using. Once they've gained your trust, they might ask for your user name and password or ask you to go to a legitimate website (such as Teamviewer or Fastsupport) to install Remote Access software that will let them access your computer to pretend to fix it.
