I picked up a phone call from the number 866-379-3643 they claim to be from American Express and asked me for personal information. I had a feeling it was a scam, I called American Express and they said no application was submitted but they did sound convincing and could have been a typical voice from a representative from American Express. Be careful. Don't give any information out

I received a message from 800-567-1083 couple of days ago, by a person named 'Ashish', calling from American Express about a "personal matter." Sounded odd, so I called the number (I had it saved when I first applied for an AMEX card) and the representative requested my SSN over the phone. I did provide the information as I considered this a trusted number since I had previously spoken with other representatives via this line before. The representative told me that there were no "notes" on my account about a call and even checked with the Fraud Department and found no security concerns. When I looked at my transactions, I found no fraudulent activities either. So bizarre...

Poor English speaking Asian woman called from 866-379-3643 and asked me to call 800-567-1083. FRAUD SCAM via Asian clearinghouse. Call from one number and return call on another I call BS. DO NOT ANSWER. Reported same to AMEX.

I received a letter from Amex about a business loan being declined. I was wary but this phone number that is on the letter is also listed on some faq's on their website so it is Amex.

Fake American express, had a heavy Indian accent. I do have an Amex card but was wary to speak with him. He wanted to confirm personal details with him, I declined. Told him you called me, if you are Amex you have my info. He said to call them back on the phone using the number on the back of my card. I did so, Amex had no record they ever called me... Be very careful, this is NOT legitimate American express! Amex should have your info if legitimate, they need to verify themselves to you not the other way around.

This is a scam call. This is not AMEX, they ask for to give your card number. Don't do it, if you have a card you should realize this is not AMEX phone number. Hang up and call the number on the back of the card. This happened to me today and I did just what I'm telling you to do. AMEX said they didn't call me. Now I'm blocking these scammers!
