***100% ILLEGITIMATE!!*** When I received a call from this number, I was told I should have received a letter in the mail and that this was a follow-up to that letter; to verify personal information on the account. They SOUNDED very sincere and legitimate. However, I refuse to give ANY information to a stranger calling from a number I do not recognize. So I hung up the phone. I then called the B of A customer service number and spoke with a representative who advised, "Bank of America NEVER calls it's clients to verify their account information, OR to ask for a payment!" He emphasized the word "NEVER"! He then said he would look into the phone number, and a moment later, he advised, "This is NOT a Bank of America customer service number!" He advised it sounds like a SCAM and that if I EVER get a call from a bank asking to verify my information, JUST HANG UP and call the customer service number on your bank card for assistance. BOTTOM LINE: NEVER give out ANY information to ANYONE over the phone -- especially unsolicited, because the people asking for it are lying, cheating, immoral, scum of the earth; and are less than dog excrement you scrape off the bottom of your shoes. ***100% ILLEGITIMATE!!***

This is a legit BOA number.They needed to confirm personal info which they do every once in a while. They knew my account numbers, SS and personal info. All I had to do is to confirm that all was correct.

This is not a valid BofA number. It is not listed for them anyplace. If they wanted this information they would just tell you that you need to login then app and update it.

I received letter plus calls over a week from different reps in Texas and Arizona re: Urgent Matter, I didn't trust it, but called main B of A number on website, they confirmed it was legitimate, and transferred me directly to the department. Don't trust me, but give your bank a call directly.

RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL ASKING TO UPDATE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. They needed my SS #,date of birth,salary,job description I though this odd since my Morgage is under BOA and they should have this information. It also stated my accounts would be closed if they do not hear back from me. THIS IS NOT A VALID LETTER! Called BOA and they said no letter was sent OUT. I also sent me an email asking for my personal information. DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF THESE COMMUNICATIONS

I got a letter from Bank of America needing to update my personal information. Instead of calling this number, I called the number for Bank of America on the back of my card. I told them I called in regards to updating my personal information and they transferred me to that department. The letter and number are legitimate. If you have any doubts call the number on the back of your card.

They are lying, scammers are posting reviews here saying they are legit calls and letters. How dumb can you be to give all your personal information out to a random caller saying I work for bank of america. Or worse in a fake letter. The bank has all your information when you opened your account and you do not need to update or verify it.

This is apparently a legit call. I'm completely on board with what others are saying about verifying all of these types of calls, so that's exactly what I did. I received a letter in the mail and then have received calls every day for the past 3 days. I answered the most recent and they immediately launched into asking for my information. I told them this sounded like a scam and that I would rather call the BoA number of the back of my credit card. So I hung up, called the # on the back of my BoA credit card, and then provided the operator with the number that called me as well as the control ID they provided. They confirmed that 800 496 9471 # is a Bank of America number and that there was a note in their system to transfer any callers referencing this number to the Know Your Customer response center. Apparently, as a result of changing fraud regulations over the past year(s), they are having to contact every customer to verify their information. So, in summary, keep being skeptical, call the numbers you know are right and confirm that way, but don't ignore this request as it's legit.

Received emails and then letters FROM Bank of America and saying they need "updated" information to keep by Business account open. They left a voicemail and Asked me to return the call at 877-488-7842. I actually called the Bank of America nuumber on the back of my Debit Card. Cust Svc Didn't know of any Account Updates that needed to be updated and suggested I walk into a branch and confirm it. I then called up the 877-488-7842 Number and was Asked for SSN, DOB, full name, etc. All things that I can't imagine a legitimate entity such as BOA would ask over the phone. But certainly info that would be used for identity theft.

I called B of A, and they even checked their log record of WHO called me today....and nada. Zip. NO evidence of anyone calling me. The phone number provided? Was not listed on their general list, either. Scum like these shills and the Scammers themselves deserve the worst type of death!

I also got a letter saying it was from B of A and needed my personal information and to mail information to Bank of America P.O. Box 269003, Plano, Tx 75026-90xx. It looked very real. I ran a search on the given fax number 866-905-23xx and found this. See website. https://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/article/2019/8/13/do-not-call-1-866-905-23xx-it-is-a-fake-bank-of-america-telephone-number/ I then called the phone number on the back of my Credit Card. The only one I know to be true and not fake. Called up and talked to a representative and they told me NO letters were sent out. My account was good and not subject to being restricted or closed. I almost sent in the information requested. I am glad I did a little leg work to find out it was a fake. If it was real at worse the account would be closed until I called to cleared things up. In the mean time I would use my other cards. Most of us have more than one card so loosing one and using others until things are cleared up isn't the end of the world.

I also confirm this was a legimate letter & phone no of the Bank of America with an address of P.O. Box 269003, Plano, Tx 75026-9003. It looked 99% scam-like despite logos & QR code that don't mean anything to me. I instead called the customer service on the Debit/AMT card & they recognized the control number on that letter. I told the compliance associate that the letter looked non-sense to me & he agreed.

I received a letter says its from Bank of America, but it looks like a scam letter. This is the number it says to call. I called Bank of America's 1 800 #. I gave her the control# on the letter and she said it is not a scam that I can call this # and they will update the info.

I received several unsolicited calls from this number, purporting to be from BofA on an "urgent matter". I called the main BofA number 800 432 1000, and after painful time-consuming interaction with the automated telephone tree, succeeded to hold for a human, and eventually learned the calls had been legit BofA requests for info update. I was transferred to that dept., which had my data including SS#, which I confirmed. I was told there had been a hold on my debit card, which now is lifted.
