Collect-calling system that prisoners must use in order to call out from prison, e.g. to get help making bail. If you don't know somebody in prison then there is a good chance that a friend or family member is calling you to get bailed out of jail. Unfortunately, in this age of free/cheap VOIP phone calling, the jail makes prisoners use this antiquated, expensive collect-calling system because the jail negotiated a 61% kickback from the service provider (GTL) that generates $1.7M/year, at the expense of prisoners' loved ones.
