Fraud ctr called-suspicious charge on CC; CU verified legit #. (Financial services) reported by


We received a call from this number about a fraudulent charge on our credit card. We did not answer in order to avoid the plethora of telemarketers and political polls. Initially received a text message about fraudulent activity on the card including this number. Called the number on the back of the card to check on fraudulent activity. The CU verified that the text and this phone number were valid for the fraud center used by the CU. CU was able to close and reissue a new card. We called this number afterwards to just follow all the way through on the fraud issue. Fraudsters initially charged pennies and then, today, tried to charge a larger amount. We have had this happen in the past. Be vigilant about small charges that you do not recognize.

They sent a text and left a voicemail saying I needed to call back to verify suspicious activity on my card. Wasn't sure if it was a scam, so I checked online. Seems the number is that of a legitimate fraud center used by many banks.
