Scam! Scam! Scam! (Scam call) reported by JP
They called and said they were from First Horizon bank and a fraudulent charge for $205 was made from my account in Miami. Then he asked me if I was driving and had I misplaced my card. I replied No to both questions. So he stated again that he was from the bank and he wanted to put a freeze on my account. I told him that I don't even have a First Horizon account and he immediately hung up the phone.

First Horizon Bank (Financial services) reported by Lisa
He said if I was out of town using my card in Miami because they just had an alert of someone using my card for over $200 and started asking for my log in and said he was going to put a freeze on my account and they would either send me a new card or go to a branch and pick it up. When I wouldn’t give him any information he told me to goggle his number to confirm he was from my banks fraud dept. I immediately hung up and he called back twice more and I declined his call. Glad I recognized the signs and didn’t give any information. I checked my bank account immediately to see that there was no such transaction. Watch out people!!!!

Spoofed Bank number (Scam call) reported by Donny
I recognized the number as my bank (First Horizon), but when they called they immediately stated a name and employee number and that they were with fraud department. They asked if I was in Miami and said they had declined attempted use on my card. Sounded like a totally legit call...for a few minutes. The guy asked if I'd like for them to cancel the card and send me a new one. Even said they'd "waive the typical charge" for fraud service and this is where I got interested in whether it was a legit call or not. I played along, asked which card he was referring to. To my surprise he was able to tell me the last 4 of my cc. I still wasn't convinced though, especially after he said he just needed to confirm my user ID. Folks, NOBODY that is legit in banking will ask for your user ID. If it was someone from Fraud they know your user ID. Now they could ask to verify my zip or something, but not info that I need to use to log into my account. When I asked why they needed the user ID he said it was just to verify and that they wouldn't ask for my password or anything like that - still a very convincing person that would definitely be able to scam some folks who aren't paying attention. I asked if I could call back and verify he was legit and he said "it was an outgoing call" and that I wouldn't be able to reach him if I called the fraud line (yet another lie). He offered to call me back "after sending me a code" as a text (that's not going to verify anything except that he could send a code - whatever). When I told him I'd call the bank and verify he just hung up - no "goodbye", "thank you for your time", nothing. Called my bank, explained what happened, they verified that my card had not been used in Miami, even checked their fraud system and nothing was flagged on my account. Folks, these people are getting better and better. Be wary!

Just received a call from the number on the back of my First Horizon Bank card and they said someone was using my card in Texas and since they hadn't received a call from me telling them that I was going out of town, they needed the ID code on the back of my card to verify this. I told them I was not in Texas and always call if I go out of town. They kept insisting that they just needed the ID number to verify. I asked them to give me my card number and he said that wasn't what he asked for. I said I know, but I want you to tell me what my card number is. He said he didn't have access to that. What?!! Why are you calling me about my card and wanting the ID number if you don't know what the card number is?! The phone number is the same but the caller is a scammer. I said I was going to hang up and call my bank to verify this call and he said it was okay because he was recording it. Oh right! But I refused to give him my ID and if you get this call, you should too!

customer service doesn’t call you 1st!!!! (Scam call) reported by Heather
I was sent a text saying there was an attempted purchase of $200 in Texas and if I didn’t try to make that purchase to text back no or yes. When I texted back no they immediately called me wanting to verify information so they could “freeze” my account and if I didn’t verify the information they would close my account. I laughed at them and told them I wasn’t giving him any information that I would hang up and call them right back. He told me if I disconnected the call my account would be closed. Again, this guy is obviously an **** trying to scam me. He got frustrated and hung up on me. I asked him to give me information verifying that they were indeed my bank. He had the last four of my social and my address but could not tell me anything else. To someone who can’t smell and sense someone’s pathetic act would have easily fallen for it and gave information to these guys. He wanted me to give him my login Id and the answers to my security questions which he had wrong anyways and when I questioned the number he was calling me from he suggested I look it up on google to prove it was my banks number. No bank will tell you to google something haha! But I did look it up and this website with the same type of review was the first link to pop up and that’s when I told him to get lost. I called First Horizon and verified it was indeed a scam and they said they would never call a customer first.

Bank Fraud Scam (Scam call) reported by Notgonnahappen
Pretending to be your bank and spoofing banks number. Look up your banks fraud number and call the actual bank to verify. Truly... it happened to us. Verified with or actual bank. The caller and texter pretend to be a fraud department with your bank but are getting your info to access your account. We called the true fraud department with our bank and they verified the telephone number was spoofed and that they were not trying to reach us or ask for user name and security questions. Do not answer! Banks do not ask those questions nor do they call you after business hours for fraud calls.

Nuisance and Waste of Time (Silent call) reported by Ausbdub
For some reason this number called 3 times all within a minute. No longer than 12 seconds, and always a silent call. I don't like answering unknown numbers so I let it go to voicemail. Dead silent. Kinda creepy.
