I received a phone call from Renee Wood (Paralegal with Washintonship & Associates LLC). She called me on January 9th 2020. She advised that I had a past debt of $472 for a company called purchasing power. She said that they were calling me on behalf of them, and that if I did not pay or make a payment arrangement I would be served by the Sheriffs department at my job. She said its not a good image for me to be served in front of my coworkers. I asked her for a letter, or something confirming the debt. She said she did not have to provide me with anything. That I was in possession of stolen property and that I was not doing her any favors. She was the one trying to help me. I got really nervous since I have never been in any legal trouble. But I found it weird that this was the 1st time ever getting a call regarding this debt. It was not listed on my credit history either. I asked her, and she said they were not required to report. I gave in and provided her my credit card info and set up a 2 payment arrangement. After that she asked me if I was on probation or parole, or if I had a suspended license or restrictions on my license. Because if I did she would have to report me. I found it very strange, but said okay. She said in order for the agreement to work, I would have to ESIGN a document. She would text me the document. And that was the end of the call. After hanging up, I searched the internet and called purchasing power and found out who really had/owned my debt. It WAS NOT Washingtonship & Associates LLC. No one was suing me. It was all a lie, I cancelled my credit card immediately. On January 14, and 15th I received multiple calls from this place again. Mrs. Woods left me a voicemail identifying herself now as the Payment Processor Supervisor. I never answered there phone calls again. She did leave me a final voicemail saying they were going to send my info to my county processor. But in reality they DO NOT own my debt. They dont work for Global Solutions. T

They got me too!!! they called me today. there was a extremely rude, fast talking lady to continued to tell me about a Citibank account I opened in 2009 and made payments on it up until 2013. They had a previous address as well as the last for of my Social Security Number. Whenever I would as here to slow down and give me some information about this supposed account, her demeanor would worsen. I finally told her i had no idea what she was referring to and to do whatever she had to do. they threaten to contact my employer as well as take my assets. i even called back to report the person i spoke to as well as get some further information about this. i got an even ruder lady on the phone who told me she was the supervisor. i asked her for further information and she told me to obtain a lawyer and hung up on me. of course i couldn't find the company name online so I'm glad i googled the number to find out others have experiences the same shenanigans and it wasnt legit. they actually scared me for a minute.

Had all the details from a consolidated debt program I did several years ago. Claim that the bank never received the payment from the debt consolidator. Willing to settle on the spot but had to be today. Stalled and said I had to speak with my financial planner and I needed the phone number to call back. Melvin Hancock had very specific details which made it sound legit. Googled the telephone number and thanks to all of you who have already reported this scam.

He tried to give me a trace number and docket number. I called him on it and requested more information. He stuck with the story but didn't provide any additional information. He was demanding and threatening in his words and inflection.

Kept saying they were a legal service, but asked for diff people. (Unsolicited call) reported by


They kept calling me over and over, but I never answered because it was a 1800 number. They would leave an automated voicemail and each voicemail said the message was for a different person. Finally I called back and they said they were a legal service attempting to get collect on an old account. I've never had an account with the agency they claimed and I wasn't 99% of the people they kept leaving voicemails for. Sounds like a scam.

Melvin

Called me and was very rude over talked me. When I asked to speak to someone else he told me no I'm not going to let you. He basically tried to force information out of me that I had nothing to do with, then he hung up in my face. Very unprofessional.

They called from another number before making treats to sue me if I don’t pay with my credit card over the phone! It’s a collection I have and mad arrangements already with my bank. It’s a scam, don’t answer
