A company called Fiserv called and I thought it was a spam call, so I didn't answer. They left a voice message that it was regarding my credit card transactions and they left the number. I wasn't sure about it so I called my bank and they connected me to the number directly. They asked my phone number, name, mother's maiden name, and last 4 of social. They listed all my transactions, so I think it was real, but it also seemed weird. That's why I am rating it a neutral. I'd say call your bank and verfiy first.

I'm in the same boat as you. The 800 number in the voicemail they told me to call back matched a Visa fraud prevention number on my banking app, which put me at ease a little, but I was still skeptical of them needing so much info; my number, name, mother's maiden name, DOB and last 4 of SSN. Seemed like a lot of personal info just to confirm some $500 transactions from all the way back in August (it's late Oct now). I asked the guy, "Why are you just calling now about some transactions from August when it's almost Nov?" He didn't really have an answer other than "we must have left you a voicemail back in August." Wait, so you're telling me from August - October, you just left my card open even though you were suspicious of some potential fraud? I think it was legit but has me uneasy given all the scams going around. Thinking of just switching to Mastercard.

I was suspicious about this call, so I did not discuss the issue first. I call back my credit card company and they let me know that it was a legit call from their security department, so I called them back and there was a fraud attempt. The transaction has been blocked and the credit card has been voided.

Let this call go to Voicemail. Indicated they were calling about fraud on Visa card. Contacted my financial institution directly and they verified that this number is Visa Fraud Department calling about potential fraud on Visa card. My bank transferred me and I was able to clarify the charge. 100% legit phone number.

My employee came to my and told me that he called this number back because they left him a message with our receptionist. I explained to him how phishing schemes work and that you don't call a number and give credit card information to them. Always call the number on the back of the card and go that way because that number can get you to the fraud department. I called the 800 number on the back of our credit cards and explained to them what happened. She confirmed that this number (800)337-3392 is in fact their fraud department and it is a legit fraud inquiry. This number is not related to a phishing scheme however, I will not change the way that I do things. I see too many people being taken advantage of. If they call, I would recommend NOT giving out ANY of your personal information (they should already have it) and call back the 800 number on the back of your card. The 800 number can get you to the right department.

Independent Banker's Bank Transaction Review (Financial services) reported by


A nice gentleman called introducing himself as from the Independent Banker's Bank Transaction Review Department. He asked for 3 specific names belonging to our business and I knew them all. He was calling regarding our Mastercard account and some questionable activity on our account ending in our cards last 4 digits. The guys he wanted to talk to weren't here so I took his information and he gave me a call back number. I did a brief google search and am still not sure if this is legit. Guess we'll find out. Won't give them any other information than they already have, though.
