Same as other reports below. Received a text claiming fraud on my account, asking to respond if it was legit or not. Made the mistake of responding. Got a call from "DCU" a few minutes later. The number matched the contact number on my phone, and it didn't occur to me it could be spoofed. They say they will send new cards and ask for a verification number that is texted to you. DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM!!! They use this to change the password on your account. They will change all the details on your account, and schedule transfers to an external bank. Before hanging up, they will tell you that your online banking will be suspended until you activate the new card. This is to trick you into not trying to look at your account. If you do, you won't be able to log in, and might just assume it is suspended like they said.

Spoofed DCU number. Starts off like a normal DCU fraud call, quickly turns into them asking for your member number, resetting your password and asking for you to repeat the password back to them.

This is a fraud. First comes a spoofed text message indicating a fraud attempt on your account. Usually Walmart with a 6-digit store number. They then follow up with this spoofed call to trick you into thinking the text was indeed a fraud alert. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, use a separately verifiable number and call the DCU. They will explain this to you.

This number is a real DCU number that called me 7 times in the past 24 hours. I finally answered this morning to a guy asking me for a version of my name not associated with my account, and asking me about debit charges made in X which he finds strange since I don't live in X. Having received many REAL fraud prevention calls from DCU and other banks, I knew this was 100% a scam so I said I couldn't hear him and would call back to the number I have for the fraud department. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION if this happens to you.

Scammers are spoofing DCU and making calls posing as fraud department. This has been going on for several months and the bank has warned their customers. If someone calls you from this number, hang up and call the number on the back of your card. Don’t give them information!
