Received two letters that looked like At&T letter head saying my passcode and user id has been changed along with security questions. I ignored. Phone number was one digit off as stated above 1-800 228-2020. Following day received a phone call that had a lot of background noise and a women who knew my first name. It went on my machine but did not state what company she was calling from. Very unprofessional. You can tell it was a scam. BEWARE

Called and said they were from Directtv offering a deal. I asked some questions and the person said listen do you want the offer or not I need you to stop asking questions. Called Directtv and was not them and they have no such offer.

U-Verse ATT (Scam call) reported by


I called Direct TV/ATT right after I hung up. They confirmed that it was not them and that they did not have any promotion of the type advertised. Since then they have called again even though I have blocked the caller. I didn't answer this time.

One digit off of AT&T's phone number (Scam call) reported by


Scammer barely spoke English, calling from a loud boiler-room call center. Uses Caller ID phone number that's almost the same as AT&T's (228 instead of 288). Wouldn't answer any questions, wanted to know if I had U-Verse or DishTV. I told him (Steve) if he were actually calling from AT&T he would know what my current service is. Scammer gave me his callback number as 800-225-2020 ext. 614, and his personal number 832-739-9835 -- call him up and waste his time.

robocall saying my at&t account was suspended for verification please press one for confirmation...... ok pressed one. Then new robo voice then asked for my at&t passcode. uh no <censored> way. i hung up.

This number is one off of the legitimate DirecTV line. (Scam call) reported by


Actual DirecTV line is 800-288-2020, but if you fat finger and dial 228-2020 instead it is a scam line and they offer you a special DirecTV package to try and extract personal information.
