Collections Agency (Debt collector) reported by Heather
Called from Chesapeake VA. I have blocked 4 numbers from this place but they just call from another #. I answered this call & a woman said “Hi, is this Heather W” I said “Yes” She said “This is an attempt to resolve a Debt with Verizon Wireless for the amount of $4790.43, How would you like to take care of that today? We accept Debit or Credit or you can pay using a Check.” I said “if I had $5 grand laying around I don’t think I’d have a debt collector calling me.” She said “I can do a Partial Payment today, how much can you pay today? Half? If you can make a payment today I can drop the amount down to $3250.00 so how do you want to take care of that?” I said “this was supposed to be resolved 4 years ago. I am just now Hearing about it? Anyways no, I can’t make that I don’t have that much laying around.” Now I would say up until here, fine she was doing her Job. Trying to resolve a debt.... but then she said it.... the one thing that is so crazy for them to suggest .... “okay if you ain’t got the money to resolve it, can you not borrow it from a friend or family member? I can set up a time to call you back ... that’ll give you time. If you have someone who can pay it off for you...” I said “I have no friends or family with a Grand lying around right now.” Anyways, apparently I can get someone to give their payment info to this company which is shady to me. Plus, why would I put my debt on someone else since the entire bill was someone else’s debt thrown on me.... Verizon was supposed to have sorted all this & I was not responsible but according to this woman I needed to pay the Debt then once it’s paid I could call Verizon to sort it out then they can refund me but it needed to be paid today. I told her I didn’t have the money today. She then said “When will you have it? I can call you back in a few days to take care of the Debt?” I said “Never, I’m Poor...” and I Hung up. It took 16 hours before I got a call back from the same place.

The guy called me I didn't answer on the first call I called him back to find out who it was because it was the area code and which I live in. He then proceeded to tell me he was a debt collector and began to ramble off a bunch of nonsense when I told him to stop excessively and then threatened to hang up on him he then yelled at me I told him I have an attorney because I'm going through some legal stuff he said I don't care I don't have to talk to them who's your attorney I proceeded to tell him who my attorney was and then hung up on him because he began to be very rude
