I know this is a scam! Same as below. Caller asks for the parent (Scam call) reported by


Caller asks for the parents of student [knows student's name] and proceeds to state that my daughter requested some study material for the SAT/ACT. They would like to send the CDs out but need a parent to agree to return the CD's within 30 days. Said there would be a $216 charge if the CD's were not returned. So I asked where the CDs were be shipped from and returned to and the lady said California. I asked how much were the shipping charges and she said they should not be much. Well I asked for the website where I could look over what she wanted to send, and she told me the SAT/ACT testing centers and that they had been doing this for about 10 years. So I asked where did my daughter sign up for this at and she stated during the PSAT test. Well, I heard a siren of some sort in the background and looked back at the number and saw that it was a 704 number. Well that was a flag. Then she asked me for a credit card to guarantee the CD's. When I told her I needed a number to call her back on she started with 1-888...and then the caller hung up. **** me off that someone would use my child's name to try to scam me!!!

satacttesting.org (Scam call) reported by


Pretty sure this is a scam. Caller knew my daughter's name. Said she was calling to confirm daughter's order of SAT study materials. Said it was free, but then added that the CDs had to be returned in 30 days. I asked what would happen if not returned, and got no answer. I asked for website and was told it was satacttesting.org. Checked out site and the "study program" actually costs $216. When I told the caller I was checking their site, she abruptly hung up on me. I think she could tell I was wise to the scam.
