I received a call from Google Ads support. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and patient. He helped me link Google Analytics to my Adwords account. I also did a screen share with him so that he could assist me. It is not a scam.

it's legit. it's an account manager from Google ads. I had the person send me an email which had the Google domain and also called Google directly and verified that this person was tied to my account. they called because I had to finish setup on my ads to maximize ad placement because of recent changes to Google ad words. I gave him very little information and he was able to read stuff directly from my account. I didn't do a screen share which they had suggested but I had him walk me through and it was a hundred percent legit.
