Said she was from Microsoft wanted me to push the MS button on the keyboard. Knew it was a scam so hung up after arguing with her. A Very rude tone in her voice and spoke English with an accent.

Windows On-line Update (Scam call) reported by


631-318-7105 called twice to my home phone on May 3/2017. Woman said she was Windows On-line Update. I replied why are you calling again. I don't own a computer. Woman hung up. Do not answer "yes" to these calls. They call me at least once a month with a computer roving caller ID phone number. They are trying to record your voice when you say "yes". They are trying to steal your identity and gain access to your computer. I live in Florida where our State Attorney Pam Bondy refuses to do anything about these scam callers and states seniors should notify Federal Caller ID bank.

Tech support scam - they lie to you that they are from Windows, that your computer has issues, and will try to get you to run eventvwr to look at phony error messages. They lie about their name, they lie about their company, they lie about their state and phone number, and they lie about your computer. If you type in what they ask, it will let them connect to your computer and they will hand you off to their "manager" who will load viruses onto your computer and destroy files, and then charge your credit card to "fix your problems".

Still another call from this non-existent (spoofed) Amagansett, NY number arrived today, just 6 weeks since the last unwanted call on Jan. 5. Once again, when the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message, just muffled noise in the background, followed by a hang-up. This is typical of robocallers (illegal telemarketers) who troll the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize. Why anyone from Amagansett, NY would phone someone in Southern California is beyond me, as I neither know nor do business with anyone in that community 3,000 miles away. Criminals, however, will victimize anyone, anywhere. Many posters have identified the caller as Middle Eastern-accented crooks pretending to be Microsoft technicians who will clean your computer of viruses. Folks, these scam artists actually intend to clean out your wallet; they specialize in wallettechtomy! DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

"Jeb" with a foreign accent wanted to clear my computer of an alleged virus. I told him I did not own a computer and he then gave me my name and told me there was a computer registered to me at my address. So I guess they are getting names and addresses from the phone book. I again told him I did not own a computer so then he asked if I wanted to cancel the service. I said yes and he seemed disappointed. Call ended.

They call several times a day even after they have been told not to call. They claim they are a legit business called Online Update. They want you to let them take control of your computer because your computer is sending bad reports.
