They call from DC number 202-906-5655 to start from and gave me the number in NYC. They say you will receive $9000 today for ARRA grant money. Be careful.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Scam call) reported by Jeffery
3/9/17 R'cvd call from 202-246-1001, given code to submit when calling 631-318-7006. After person answered, requested my name, telephone #, and code to verify I was a "valid" potential recipient of $9,000, bank transfer, western union, or by mail. Was told I have to purchase "proof of ID" for $199.99, to complete the service to be sent the $9K by mail, explained I could not have the $199.00 deducted from the $9K, asked to call back when I have the money, I believe this to be a scam.

I got the same problem that one guy called me from washington DC and telling me that Goverment select me to get $9k grant and give me a code with this 631 number to call back. I didn't call

Unsolicited call reported by Garris
This number comes from East Hampton, NY, I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. Have missed calls from them on my mobile, was trying to dig some info on the internet before calling them back, but found nothing, no luck. People pls did someone answer this number, who is it?

It has something to do with getting a Federal grant from the IRS. That's the info I got before I was asked to call this number. I haven't called it so I don't know how true it is. Probably a scam

I teach internet security and mobile security. So, in short, when I kept getting the unknown caller from washington, DC I decided to answer. The customer service personal said I was awarded a $9000 grant to call this number 6313187006 and enter a validation code....I did not!!!!!!! do this and I recommend that no else do this....the government does not give grants away for good behavior.

I called and gave them the code that the other person from 202-246-1001 gave me. When I connected on this other # in question and person asked me to go to a Western Union and purchase a Apple iTunes card for $200 and then call back for my tracking number to receive my funds. All three of the people I spoke to had very strong accents. I believe it's a scam.
