pretend to be fraud department said we opened 2 new accounts with them. called amex directly to confirm both their call number and callback number are fraud. AMEX has ONLY 1 fraud department (pls google yourself), does not have any other phone numbers. they will try to offer you phone number to stop credit report agencies, which also fraud number. just ignored the call.

I received a voicemail message about a credit card app being filed under my name. I looked up a different number for Amex that I could verify and called and they confirmed this was NOT an Amex phone number and was a probably phishing. There was no application file under my name or SSN.

Call was breaking up, caller had heavy foreign accent I could barely understand except for the number I was supposed to call. Called AMEX number on back of my credit card and was told that neither the calling number or the number given for call back were legitimate AMEX phone numbers, and that there were no notes on my account regarding any transactions.

The person told us there was a pending payment to our business but we do not accept AMEX but they were insistant that we provide our banking information so that they could process the payment to us. Very Very Scam tell any employees not to fall for there tricks.

They conned me a couple of months ago into giving an answer to a security code. The next day, my last payment was "returned to me" but it was not to my bank account. I had to call the real Amex to get it straightened out and change my security questions. So, when they tried again, I did not answer. They did not leave a message. If it had really been Amex and they needed to get me, they would have left a message.
