We were trying to download AOL and having some issues, 3 minutes after the failure we received a call from Kevin of AOL - he said he would help us. Sent us an email with his name and business as AOL. Kevin offered us a contract which we denied. We contacted AOL and they said this person nor phone number was not affiliated with AOL. We worked with AOL and let them know that these people did download into our computer. AOL support assisted us and removed the filters. We received a call today from Kevin stating we owed them because we let them help us. They are now blocked from calling our number. BEWARE!

Called and offered to help me download AOL, (Telemarketer) reported by Ms. M
Man called and asked for me by name. Said he was from AOL and "saw" that I had been having trouble installing AOL Gold. Offered to help me now. I told him computer was not available and to call back in a week. Foreign accent. Highly suspicious.

Another HP rep call (Scam call) reported by Robert
Clicked on entry online (website not remembered). Was looking for support for installing a new HP printer. Male purporting to be an HP tech asked if he could call back. Got my name and phone number. Called twice. First time 8 minutes. Second time 6 minutes. "Rep" had offered to connect printer to computer. Asked to get in and "drive." Permission was granted. (Stupid on my part!) After a few minutes, got suspicious and terminated the call and unplugged my computer. Am very concerned that the contents of my computer might have been downloaded and/or that malware may have been installed.

I had the exact same thing happen when calling hp to help install my new printer. They actually said that they couldn't install the printer because my computer had a wireless issue with hackers trying to get into my computer. They even pulled it up on the screen. Said it would take a one time fee of $149 to fix my brand new computer and printer. Never let these jerks have access to any computer. They actually turned off my print spooler on my computer. As soon as my friend fixed the setting I was able to install the printer on all of my computers. This company is a scam. They might be a 2nd party working for hp, but if so... They are scamming hp customers. Spread the word. This is a scam.
