I have had calls like this before. The caller calls you by your first name. Hi Mary, how are you today? Then they proceed to ask for a contribution to thei cause. In January I made the mistake of thinking it was a friend. It was a man asking for a contribution for the Police Officers Association of Michigan. They are very persistent

Called with a foreign accent and said call was about auto insurance payment for State Farm or All State. Then wanted to know if my driver's license was in good standing. They were fishing for personal information since no insurance agent would call as she did.

I answered. 3 seconds of silence then a man asked what insurance I have. I said State Farm and he asked for my license # so I hung up.

Someone from a different country claiming to be with my insurance company. Mind you my insurance isn't through my name nor does it have my phone number. Nothing more than a scammer trying to get personal information. Hung up when I called them scammers.
