Called me from a weird number (Arizona at first), told me that I had taken out a payday loan back in 2012 (8 years ago). I did not. Tried to tell me that it was possible fraud but I should pay anyway and that there was a 10 year statute on the debt, FALSE, it’s 5 years in my state. Went on to say that it was originally through American Web Loans but couldn’t tell me the exact date, just that it had went through to collections back in late 2012. They have a response for everything and so I felt like it was real. She tells me that It will go to court if it’s not paid and the case is logged. We were very polite to each other and I requested a confirmation of the debt which she said she would send, I said once I receive that and verify it, I will pay it. Also I asked for the name of the their company (north crest Phoenix associates), and I ask for a website address. Surprise, surprise, there’s no website and no google results for the company. Fast forward a couple of days and I get another call, this time from a California number and it’s a different person and they are following up. I tried to verify some information and they said they had emailed it and not posted it and I said I had not received anything. This time I start asking questions, how old is the debt, what was the location, when will I get my court summons and the lady hangs up on me. BTW I have rumbled it by now that this is not legit but I want to be 100% sure because they sounded so professional at first. I call back and the next lady is so rude to me, calls me arrogant and a time waster and that’s when I knew that this was garbage, she also hangs up on me. I call again and say I want to pay, she acts nice this time but then I start asking questions and she gets mad again, they don’t like questions apparently, they just want money. Funny that! Long and the short is do your homework, if nothing else there isn’t a company in the world nowadays that does not have some kind of website and is not listed.

They call you and freak you out with a fake "lawsuit" that you are supposedly part of. They never mention your name. They wait for you to call them back, then they use old information of yours (most likely collected using the Freedom of Information Act- all public record info) to convince you that they are taking you to court. They want you to wire them money to settle. Don't fall for this scam. Try calling them back and messing with them. It's pretty fun. Just talk in gibberish, or scream profanities at something in the room (as if having another conversation). Go crazy, have a good time. These people deserve to be tortured, scamming innocent people.

I received a call stating it was a lawyer and they were starting litigation within 72 hours. Left a number for me to call 5167143840 which I called saying that I took out a cash advance which I never have using information that was 15 years old regarding previous employment and address. I asked for specifics to be sent to me they denied request stating all that would be sent is email confirming debt or payment plan arrangement. I stated if this was to be a legal matter and I am part of And I’m the defense that I’m entitled to the information to know that what I’m fighting specially if this is a fraudulent use of my name and information when I didn’t do this. they said the only way they would be able to give me the information is if I paid the settlement for $600 then stated it was $400 or set up a payment plan before 5 o’clock this afternoon! They sounded legit at first and really has me concerned but I know I didn’t do this and when stating they won’t mail anything or give me any information unless I paid confirmed my suspicion that this can’t be legit if anybody has any other information please share cause this is a terrible thing to harass, threaten and lie to people causing unnecessary stress and concern and the vulnerable getting scammed out of hard earned money thinking they are doing the right thing!

I totally agree with u I just got a call today from phone number 48093702xx I didn’t answer they left a voicemail saying that I had 72hrs to give them a call back From me and my attorney about something and to call 51671438xx I was so scared at first but the voicemail did not make any sense since the 480 phone number is from Arizona and the other from New York. Smh

Threatened to garnish wages (Debt collector) reported by


Rude woman named Amber told me I was being sued for a cash advance loan when I worked for an employer. Asked her when I took this lon out and she stated she didn’t have to tell me that i fo. The company she stated she would be garnishing, I haven’t worked for in 14 years. Gave me a company Midland Financial wants my money and stated I’d be served in 72 hours. Asked for more info was told she didn’t like my tone, pointed out she called me threatening me but won’t give me more info. I asked her where I lived and worked and she couldn’t tell me anything. She hung up on me, so naturally I called back. I haven’t had any debt since I filed bankruptcy 14 years ago - so if she’s speaking the truth it would’ve been included. My thing is she called threatened me hung up when i wanted more info, when i called back was transferred to her and she still proceed to threaten me and stare the call was being recorded. I was like girl bye, scamming people to get a buck. I haven’t had bad debt in 15 years - pretty sure there’s a statue of limitations or something. Don’t answer this call or 480.937.0282 that’s the number that leaves the threatening automated number that call me.

Girl called me threatening the same thing. Had info at least 10yrs old and a bank I've never associated with. I called the police and had to file a report.

Keeps calling my cell. When I call from work, one immediately states we obviously got the wrong number, the other wants a case number- states company name is North Crest Phoenix & Associates. Voicemail states they need to do an "asset & employment verification" for a pending lawsuit.
