Frequent repeated “Uber codes” (SMS) reported by


Received 17 text messages in 20 hours, typically in bursts of 3-5 each burst. Messages varied in format from “Your Uber code: 6936” to “Uber code: 5514” to “4745 is your Uber code.” After each burst I typed “unsubscribe” and “stop” to which I received “SMS from Uber is now disabled. To re-enable, reply START.” Then hours later it started again on its own. Calling it results in an automated recording stating the number I traced does not accept phone calls. I do have the Uber app but text service is turned off and I haven’t used the app in nearly a year. Seems like a scam but I don’t see the trick. Blocked the number.

Sent me 7 texts in a row and didn't even have words in it. They seemed fishy to me so I didn't open them and just blocked the number.
