Threatened me attempting to collect old debt (Debt collector) reported by Ashley S
I received 2 voicemails saying, “ my name is Michelle Walker and this is your final notification regarding the service ever legal documents I will be making several attempts at your current residence or at your place of employment today between 3 and 5 PM if I'm unable to reach you at either one of these locations this will be documented as a direct refusal to comply if you have any further questions or concerns you can contact the filing party's office at 469-393-5996 that phone number again is 469-393-5996 this matter will be filed at the end of business on Monday, December 9, 2019…“ I called them back concerned that a document server may show up at my workplace (at the time I was still a temp and waiting to be hired on so I didn’t want anybody showing up at my work) and to find out what debt I even owed... they used threatening language and legal jargon but danced around the issue when I asked if they were a law firm or debt collections and they finally told me they are an “investment company”, however the name of the company or phone number do not come up with ANYTHING when you google search it. They informed me they were trying to collect a debt related to an old US bank account and I said I haven’t banked there for many years, supposedly I owe over $400... from an account from 2006!!!!!! They were saying they would send a document server to my home to serve me legal papers (but wouldn’t say if it was a summons or what kind of legal documents when I asked) for a THIRTEEN year old debt! I gave them my current address and told them what time I get home so they can send their server out to me, never heard another word from them again. I called my state attorney general to ask them if I could file a complaint and they told me it reeks of a scam and not to worry about it, then I called US Bank fraud division to make them aware of the scam and the kicker was that the company was in fact the company that bought my old debt! Still no document in sight though!
