It came up on my caller ID as Shyncrony, misspelled. (Scam call) reported by


It came up as Synchrony - misspelled syncrony bank. The foreigner with bad accent was trying to validate my credit card that I opened, asking me for my address. I hung up on him.

Legit call from Synchrony Bank. Called me to verify suspicious activity on my newly-issued Lowe's credit card, asking me to verify my DOB and Last 4 digits of SSN, which I'm not comfortable giving. I asked them how did I know it was not a scam, and he explained he can't give me any info before he could verify my identity first. I was still in doubt, then he asked me for my DOB only. I gave him my DOB and he did know everything about my account and helped me unlock the card for future purchases.

I hate these calls. Isn't there some way to keep them from ringing. It is great that I know not to answer but how wonderful it would be to not even hear it ring.
