Left this message: Hello this is a courtesy call from CVS Caremark calling for (my name). Our records indicate that you are overdue for a prescription refill. Please call us toll-free at 877-766-9481 and enter extension 9487705. Since I don't have any of my prescriptions filled at CVS, nor have I ever have, this is a scam. It originated out of Tennessee phone# (423) 822-2465.

we never told CVS or Caremark that we wanted a presciption filled by them. How would they know my Dr. or drug. This smells to be something else. Do they want my charge card number to bill out other things? People, do not give them any information, I am a retired pharmacist and something is not right.

My MIL lives in a nursing home. They have a pharmacy service that delivers all prescriptions to their staff for their residents at the home. She has Aetna under Medicare. We haven't filed a prescription for her from any other provider for 4 years. She does have some outstanding hospital/doctor bills from her many trips to the hospital...

This is legit - CVS Caremark (not regular CVS). Aetna uses this for their Mail Order Pharmacy. It instructs you to call 866-532-7339 and enter the code number they left in the message. I did that and the automated system responds with legitimate prescription medications that we recognize and have previously ordered in our Aetna account. They are indeed due for renewal as shown in our online account sponsored by our employer. So there you have proof. They may call more often than people like but that does not mean they are a scam or an illigitimate robocall. You can go into your account settings and either disable these calls or turn them into a text message or email.

I don’t get mail order prescriptions. How do you explain that? I don’t have any over prescriptions and they keep calling.

Shirley and Anna - CVS Caremark is not just a mail order pharmacy. It is also not the same as CVS pharmacies (though both are owned by CVS Health). If your benefits are managed by CVS Caremark, they may be contracted by your prescription benefit plan to call you when a prescription is due, even if you go to other pharmacies that are not owned by CVS.
