They called stating they were involved with the Department of Education and would be able to forgive 80% of my loans. That seemed sketchy, she sounded like she was from India, asked me how lunch money I make a year, how much my loans were. It was when she asked for my date of birth I knew something was up. She said needed it to pull up my loan info and said she was sending me a code to confirm. It was the "forgot password" message. I hung up AMD called the ACTUAL dept of education. The guy I spoke with said that was most likely not them. With their loan forgiveness program, they dont do that stuff over the phone and if it was legit they would have had access to my loan info already.

They want to help me get forgiveness for my student loans, which I do have. However, there seems to be something fishy about the phone calls. Before I give out any personal information, I must be sure that the person I am speaking to is who they say they are - and that just isn't possible in this format. Today's phone call was from a man named "Shawn" but sounded like he was from India...

I haven't found any ratings for this number somewhere else on internet resources, which should be a good sign... Does someone have some experience with this one? Was trying also different formats of this number, but no luck. On the other hand I am not the only one searching for this number as can be seen from different pages... Does anyone know who might be calling?
