Called me immediately after I submitted to a background check for work, that's why I picked up. They identified as Portfolio Recovery on a recorded line, and started asking for my private personal information. I asked what their company does and what was the purpose of the call, and they said it was private so they can't tell me until they get my private info. Definitely fraud.

Portfolio recovery. Scam. Real debt collector would leave message. These people do not. Chances are they work for international scammer who are looking to hurt the innocent. If these people were legit they would have info and would call from one number. Not using other numbers and companies to cover their lies and theft. No one that I know and have dealt with has this number. Do these people are spoofing hacking highjacking **** or guessing and ask for specific people trying to trick you into giving out your information or someone else's. And they will steal from you threatening to have you arrested and brought up on charges. Which is all lies.

Portfolio Recovery Associates. They are fraud. They call about debt that has been written off, either because it is too old to collect or too small of an amount for the company to worry about. This company has no legal claims to the money they demand. They DO NOT represent the companies they say they represent. This company LIES and says they will take you to court and will get judgements against you and will report against your credit. Set your mind at ease and call the original company who you had a debt with and deal with them. Most all of the time you will find your debt has been written off and forgotten about by the company you owed in the first place.
