I received a call with an automated voicemail from this number saying it related to a legal action and call back immediately. I called back from my work phone which is a different number than called and a foreign sounding (India, etc.) man answered, "IRS, Officer Macnanery (?) speaking..." I hung up right away recognizing this is a scam! Beware and don't bother calling back!!!

Same thing happened to my neighbor and she was about to pay until I saw the caller id and saw the #. I wanted to take the phone and talk to them and they had warned her that "protocol" was if you told anyone about this that you would get arrested right away, when he heard me someone else in the household talking about it he told her she was getting

Just tried calling me. What they do is use a VOIP service and the call on your caller od shows up as the Government calling. They try to gain your personal information to defraud you of your money. The actual IRS will NEVER call you if their is a problem with your taxes. The person has an accent and will use tactics such as threatening prison or deportation or go as far as tricking you saying the IRS will foreclose your bank accounts or house. This number is a tracfone based in New York so beware and never ever give them any personal information.
