I call back all my scammers. But I do not answer their calls. I immediately look up the number on the net to confirm it is indeed a scam call. Calling back can get your number removed from their list. I know, that's odd. Read on... So, this number just called me. I did not answer it, then I confirmed online is it a scammer. Yep, a survey scammer. Upon calling back, I was told my "survey was complete." Weird, since I never talked to them. I stayed on the line because I have learned from past scammers I have called back they put in long pauses, hoping you will hang up before you have completed your number's removal request. Anything so they can keep on calling you...even stuttering robo voices with pause tricks...they use. Back to my calling the number back. Robo voice said my survey I never took was complete and I have stayed online long enough to hear: Robo dude stuttering a lot and I eventually hear I should press "9" to receive no more calls from this number. I press 9. No response. I wait. Then I press 9 again. Robo voice stuttered something I could not understand, so I press 9 a 3rd time. More wsiting. I press that magic number again, 9. I clearly hear I had been removed from their survey list. Robo suddenly had a clear voice! If this scammer calls again, meaning the "press 9" did not work? I will return to add the information for everyone. Final mention- I have noticed most of my scammers are from nearby area codes. I believe this is so put us at ease and answer. This could be a friend or our kid's school, spouse using a friend's phone and so on. In truth, the scammers must be rerouting the calls through my area to pick up my area code. Those crafty scammers try to think of everything! Happy Blockin'!
