Federal Government Grant (Scam call) reported by


Been getting these calls for two years now from Federal Government Grant. Yesterday a woman called, today a man with accent calls. They tell you that you have been choosen out of 1900 people to receive this grant since you pay your bils and have not had bankruptcy. Funny, how I have had a bankruptcy. They give you a code and number to call. This time same man answered call and asked how I would like to receive the money. I choose Western Union, and then I must stay connected as he is tied in with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and must stay on my cell phone while transactions are completed. Next, he ask for $200 refundable deposit to do this. I tell him that I only need the MTCN# to pickup the funds. Then he tried to get me to do the $200 deposit to receive the $9200 grant and supposedly get my $200 back too. This is a total scam. Grants have to be applied for and do not charge you .. It is just a way for THEM TO COLLECT $200. He told me to write his name down too, Sam Johnson, if you can believe that too. I just hung up and he called back.

I never filled out any application for any grants , therefore no grants should be offered to me. A guy called with a thick accent told me to go to nearest Walmart and load $50 on a card in order for them to send me the grant money. It's very sad these cowards would try to steal people's hard earned money.

He had my zip code and said I was getting this because I never filed for bankruptcy and my age. Then said I will give you a code called caller id code # and I must call 315-636-5266 to the senior accountant and give the code. I told him I had an appointment and had to hang up. When I arrived at my appointment in the waiting room I received another call from another man and I told him I was at my appointment and could not talk and hung up.
