called to tell me that my equipment needed to be upgraded for a better picture. They knew all my account information including my credit card information. They told me it would be a one time charge of 120.00 to have someone come out to work on my equipment. After the guy came out and worked on my box and satellite he gave me a card with his name, Stephen Roberts, and phone number, 325-864-9182. He told me to not call the 800 number to ATT but to call him directly if i have any issues in the future. Come to find out on my credit card bill they charged me 240.00 instead of the 120.00 that i was told. I called ATT and they told me they have no notes on my account of the equipment upgrade and do not know of any such offers to begin with. ATT advised me that they do not charge for any necessary equipment upgrades and will not call me. There would be a notice in the monthly bills or mailed to me separately. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card and get a new card reissued to me so that these scammers cannot try to charge my card again. I'm 83 years old so they figured that I'd be an easy mark and not catch on to what they were doing. Do not speak to these people or agree to any of their bogus equipment "upgrades"!!!

can save you on your monthly bill for 12 months by charging your credit card now otherwise would cost $500 for the upgrade. I called ATT - no such program and I have the most current DVR box. Just for your information - the caller ID showed ATT calling 1-800-228-2020 but when I asked for a number to call back after discussing with my husband (NOT) - I was given 315-285-4313. This is a SCAM - unsolicited call by Steve tech number 6007.

Upon calling real Direct TV phone #, they did not have the service call on record- and they do not charge for equipment upgrades-
