It was a robocall with a digitalized voice stating "This is the IRS. We have been trying to reach you for some time. You must call us back immediately at [insert same number that called me]." The IRS does not make these sort of calls, and I am up-to-date with my income taxes and in good standing. This is clearly a scam attempting to bait me into calling then paying some sort of debt or fine with false threats of federal tax evasions. I've had this sort of scam call before--it's very shady.
