Blue Cross Blue Shield "update information" (Unsolicited call) reported by


Woman with thick Indian/Asian accent who claims not to request personal info but to update your healthcare and asks for your doctors name and info from your prescriptions. I don't even have any prescriptions. They get forceful and rude if you press them to give you more info on who they are. (I asked for her name and after a while she quickly said her name is Nancy Reagan and then immediately pivoted back to my docs info.) 80-90% sure it's a scam of some sort. Block if you'd like, but i personally prefer to have fun with scammers, so i hope they call back again ;)

Person who called had heavy Asian accent, and couldn’t say Nevada right even after I corrected her. Said the same stuff as listed above, but didn’t ask SSN. Just asked for birthday. They had some of the info, but I’m hard of hearing plus the accent, so I kept asking why they needed my birthday? She said they were checking benefits on my health plan so they could have someone call me back about vitamins. What? I take OTC vitamins, so I told her that, and she asked me where I had most pain. I said everything hurts, so she say I should be aware of my benefits so I could get better vitamins to take care of pain. But I asked about Blue Cross too, cuz I said I had insurance through another source, and they said they work with Humana, Aetna, and a couple others. One of them was mine, so she said “yeah, so our records show your doctors name is ——“ and she was right, so I asked how she got it? She didn’t answer, but she said her office address correctly, so I said yes... and then she said my address correctly, so I figured ok and gave her my birthday only. Now I feel stupid after reading above. But that’s the only thing. Then she said thank you and that someone would call back to let me know about vitamins and to please take the call. I’ll probably just say “who? No one hear by that name... you got the birthday wrong too!” Lol, if they even call back. Hope they can’t do too much with just my birthday.
