Called to report there was something wrong with my computer. Similar thing happens at least one a year. Name came up as Jeffrey Beers. Had strong Indian accent. Hung up only after I wouldn't give my credit card information.

NY, NY phone number. Male caller with heavy accent (possibly Eastern Indian). Saying he was from Google. His number was not a Google number. We did not have any prior business with the caller. I did a quick Google of his number and found hundreds of complaints online that verified it for me - a scammer. He apparently uses different methods to try to extract CC information and make money off of people. When I told him I was forwarding his information to my attorney he hung up. He was rude and wanted to give me his scam story but he wasn't successful.

I live in Norway. The man in NY, speaks strong Asian(maybe Indian) accents English, said someone tried hacking windows in my computer. So I just had hang off the phone.

If you call number it shows as non working. They get our numbers by paying for list of numbers, etc. Everything they do is illegal. However, they operate remotely and often from overseas. They ignore both local and national do not call list. All such operations are scams, even if they claim to represent legit companies. Call blocking only does away with call. They still can reach voice mail and often can text. What is required is major prosecution, and fines to telecom companies that give them the list to begin with. They also need to shut down all the numbers they operate on. NY, Pa,Ok,Texas all have many in operation at present.
