Called and talked way too fast with their personal name and company name. Claim to be a newspaper company that needs your supervisor's name and email address to send a hard copy to. Didn't even know the actual name of our organization..said it wrong. Sounded sketchy and not cohesive.

They called and asked for a staff member's email regarding talking to her about a newspaper article. I said the information is available on the website and our communications director handles that type of inquiry and I transferred the call to her. They immediately called back 3 more times. I did not answer. They did not leave a voicemail.

Called once and stated a staff member's name and that they were in a local newspaper article, and they wanted to send her the electronic mock up article as a way to preserve the article for her. They also asked for an alternative email to send yet another newspaper's article about the same staff member. They said we would receive it within 24-48 hours...the next day a man called and said the email wasn't confirmed 9for the same staff member) and would I please provide it. I told him I wasn't comfortable to do so and to check with his co-worker.

I picked up the phone and they kept insisting that I give them the owners email because we won an award for some news article that we aren’t even in the same state for. When I asked how they got this number and they ignored me and asked for the email again. I said do not call this number again or I will be contacting the police and they hung up very quickly. They did end up calling back a week later and I told them I will be forwarding this phone call and this number to the attorney general and they hung up. I haven’t received a call again.

I found this company or whatever online how they work and they did it word for word. Pushing for an email and would not let up. Something called That's Good News a magazine and kept pushing for the Executive Director's email. Suddenly, he said he looked at our website and said we are not what they are looking for.....hung up though I was ready to. It was a pushy call.
