DC governmental department calling to offer money SCAM (Financial services) reported by


So they call me. 20 times in the span of 3 hours to be exact. I’ve been out shopping and driving so I couldn’t answer. Finally I do and I get an inidan lady saying she’s with the special department if the gov. And that I qualify for some money. She said she had to give me a code I told her I was out shopping and couldn’t write anything down so to call later. She then said I’ll call in ten mins. I said no. She said one hour. I said no how about five. And she said we are closing at five I will call in thirty mins. And then she hung up. Then she called in thirty mins, I was driving couldn’t answer, and then continued to call every ten mins. I get home and I answer and it’s a man this time. I told him I already went through all the info and just need the code. He was confused that someone has already called me from this number and acted like he didn’t know how that could have happened, he wasn’t also Indian as was she. And went through everything again and gave me a code and number. I told him I would call it once I’ve researched and seen if this is a scam. So you would think that they would stop calling because I have the code right? Nope they call every thirty mins. Again I am out shopping and it’s annoyingly so eventually at 9PM I pick up and i said I no longer have to do research I know you are a scam. The man seemed confused and said what have we done. I said no ligit covernmenr facilitt is going to be making public calls past NINE OCLOCK AT NIGHT! Exsoecially when I was told you close at five. His reply we are working late tonight and I promptly said what you have been doing today is harassment and then the line hung up immidiately. Haven’t gotten another call yet. The scary thing is they knew my name, my number, my DOB, my address and my employer. I ligit JUST got my first job four days ago, haven’t even worked yet I start today, yet they knew who employed me and what company I was employed with.
