Claim to be Windows, then say that they are Microsoft and your computer is sending error messages. Ask you to look at some bogus place for a standard number and call it your id. Then they want access to your computer. I put them on hold for about 10 mins just to waste their time. These guys are dangerous scammers and assume that they want access to your computer to collect sensitive data. Do not fall for this.

The caller I/D states Microsoft, they are East Indians calling from a New Jersey phone number. My husband & I both spoke with Singh & he actually admitted they are scammers

They claim my computer keeps sending them reports of errors and popups. They don't want money, but to tell me how to fix it. ???????? I ask what the call is about, she says my computer. I said, ok what about my computer? She says I'm calling about your computer, ma'am. I say, yeah. . .I get that, what do you want with my computer? Her answer is that she's with Microsoft and wants to help with my errors and popups, but that I may not be aware of them. Then tells me they are getting reports from my computer. When I asked how I know it's not a scam, Asian lady says they have my Microsoft licence number from my registered product. I ask for a call back number and she gives me an 800 number and says it's in New York, but wants to know when I'll be calling back. When I called it back, Asian man answered, technical support. I ask with whom, he answered, 'Windows, Microsoft' and their location is Manhattan.
