Call: "Harris Group" on behalf of SDGE offering 30% discount. (Call centre) reported by


Caller claimed they were calling from Harris Group on behalf of SDGE. Knew my name. Did not ask for account # or any other info except how many people in the household and yes or no to the an income that they quoted in order to qualifify. I know SDGE does offer a 30% care discount. Looking up the phone number it shows Harris Group Call Center - Authorized Outreach Contractor.

The phone number is legit. Hang up and call the number back and it will route to SDG&E call center (https://www.sdge.com/residential/pay-bill/get-payment-bill-assistance/assistance-programs). That being said, most people won't qualify unless they're on disability, public assistance, or are low income. Previous job worked hand-in-hand with the CARE program. However, still recommend calling them, and not giving them your info as the caller ID can be spoofed.

I did not feel comfortable with the caller who offered me a discount for utilities. I do not qualify for and I told him so. Then the same person called 5:45 pm and again at 7:15 pm asking for me by my name. I’m Blocking the number. I believe this Must be a scam.
